The last track, “La Santa Muerte” (the saint of death), opens furious– closes remorseful and sad. Deathgrind at both its extremes, in one tune. Detuned to C but sounding somehow even more massive. Sepultura, circa Chaos A.D., on meth and Crossfit.

[Bonus trivia: They’re absolutely the only band I can think of, let alone a metal band, with a Basque album title: “Akelarre” means “Witches’ Sabbath” in fraking Basque.]
