It’s Greek, roughly, for “To my left, the demons.” It’s all kinds of blackened emo-sludge/ambient doom– the Cure as sludge-worshipping doomsters, the Black Veil Brides from Bizarro Earth that are inspiring artists and metal musicians.
It’s conviction that sells good (metal?) vocals– Don’t imitate cookie monster, don’t mirror some pain you saw someone feel that one time– put it through your throat.
There can’t be five people on Earth who could sell the bitter, rageful and obsessed diatribes of “The Prolonging” like Tom Warrior. The dialogue would sound like D-movie villain schlock if he didn’t actually sound like he meant it.
